Decoders other than Roku will default to this mode. Rokus have no option for low latency; this is a hardware-level limitation for Rokus. All other devices will generally play this mode just fine. This mode has a latency of roughly 500 milliseconds (give or take) and will also keep most players in nearly perfect sync automatically (roughly 50 ms drift). It is by far the best option for many venues, but if your particular device is having issues in LL mode, then you can opt to place the device into the compatibility mode, which will then carry a latency of roughly 6-8 seconds depending on your encoder configuration.
To reiterate, there is no way, to put any Roku device into LL mode but if you need low latency, you can easily add an Android/Fire TV stick to any display needing LL mode.
