Encoder Configuration
Configure and Monitor a Video Source
The Encoder page is where you configure how a video source is captured, processed,
and delivered to the DisplayHUB system.
This page controls everything about an individual encoder — from stream quality
to device identification, network connection, and advanced processing behavior.
What This Page Is For
Each encoder represents a video source such as a tuner, camera, capture device,
or external hardware input.
This page allows you to:
- Monitor live encoder status
- Adjust stream quality
- Configure input hardware
- Set device identity and location
- Manage network connectivity
- Control advanced streaming behavior
- View diagnostic logs
Changes made here directly affect how video is delivered to displays.

Top Status and Monitoring Panel
The top of the page shows the encoder preview and real-time operating information.
This area confirms the encoder is running and shows performance metrics
such as stream status, bitrate, and system activity.
You may also see quick access buttons such as:
- Program guide (EPG)
- Remote control
- Current channel or input

Quality Settings
Quality settings control how video is encoded and delivered.
These settings determine visual quality, bandwidth usage, and latency.
Adjust these carefully, especially in multi-display environments.

Capture and Input Configuration
This section defines how the encoder receives video from its source device.
Depending on hardware type, this may include:
- Input device selection
- Source type configuration
- Capture parameters
- Audio handling
These settings must match the physical device connected to the encoder.

General Device Settings
This section identifies the encoder within the DisplayHUB system.
Typical settings include:
- Device name
- Physical location
- Notes for operators
- GUI access password
You may also configure Electronic Program Guide information using XMLTV data,
which allows program listings to appear in the controller. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

Wi-Fi Configuration
This section controls the encoder’s wireless network connection.
Changing Wi-Fi settings may move the encoder to a different network,
which can temporarily disconnect the interface.
For best performance, wired Ethernet is recommended whenever possible.

Advanced Settings
Advanced Settings control how the encoder generates the video stream
and communicates with capture hardware.
These options affect compatibility, quality, and latency,
and should only be adjusted when necessary.
Examples include:
- Video codec behavior
- HLS stream configuration
- Audio processing
- Hardware interaction modes

System Logs and Diagnostics
The bottom of the page contains detailed system logs.
These logs provide technical information about encoder operation and are used
for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and support.
Most users do not need to interact with this section unless instructed.
